Dr Ashok K Chauhan was born in 1942 in the state of Uttar Pradesh, northern India. After completing his M.Sc. in Chemistry in 1963, Dr Ashok K Chauhan worked at one of the largest industrial groups in India. In 1966, he won scholarship to research chemical engineering and plastic technology in West Germany and then became Head of Research and Development at Daetwyler Europe.
As an immensely successful entrepreneur in Europe for over three decades, Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan realised that if one could motivate tens of thousands of talented youngsters and give them global level professional education while instilling in them a sense of values, then there could be no reason why they would not cross over to the world to become global leaders. With this vision in mind, Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan went on to establish the not-for-profit Ritnand Balved Education Foundation in 1986, bringing together some of the brightest minds from the scientific, academic and corporate community to take the first step towards his dream.
In 1973 Dr Ashok K Chauhan started his own business based in Frankfurt, which rapidly grew and diversified as the AKC Group of Companies, an international industrial and trading empire with a turnover of over US$1.6 billion and businesses including petrochemicals, manufacturing, high-technology and healthcare, among others.
Today, Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan's vision has translated into the internationally benchmarked campuses that have come to epitomise the Amity Education Group. Currently the Group comprising of 5 universities, 17 schools & pre-schools and 150+ institutions, is home to over 95000 students pursuing 240 Programmes from nursery to Ph.D., across 15 campuses spread over 1000 acres.
